Pegasus Health works with general practices, community providers and health system partners to improve access to care and support people to stay well in their communities.

Acute Demand Coordination and Community Nursing is central to this work, supporting care closer to home, reducing pressure on hospitals, and connecting patients, whānau and healthcare providers across Canterbury.

This is an opportunity to lead operational delivery in a service that supports hospital avoidance, supported and timely discharge and safe care closer to home. The service connects general practice, community nursing, hospital services and people receiving care at home.You’ll work with experienced clinical and operational leaders to support and strengthen service integration, operational performance, patient flow and consistent service delivery.

The role also contributes to service development, including implementation of service improvements, technology-enabled care and other innovations that help more people receive safe care in the community.

We’re looking for an operational leader who can see the big picture and practical understanding of service delivery.

You will bring:

  • Experience leading in healthcare or community services or operational environments.
  • Experience delivering and supporting service improvements, change and new initiatives, that brings people, process and systems together.
  • The ability to use data and frontline insight to identify issues and support practical action.
  • Strong relationship  skills and the confidence to work across different organisations.
  • A collaborative leadership style with a strong focus on equity, quality and safety ..
  • The ability to work constructively with Team Leaders, clinical leaders and service partners.

Experience in health services, community healthcare, primary care, hospital services or integrated models of care would be an advantage.

You will also bring, or be ready to develop, an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and working in a bicultural way.
