Are you passionate about pastry, Italian flavours and creating desserts that people remember?

We’re looking for an experienced and creative Casual Pastry Chef to join our kitchen team within our Italian dining precinct at Crown Sydney.

Bringing together refined dining, vibrant hospitality and a genuine love of Italian food and culture, our precinct is an exciting place to work for chefs who care about quality, creativity and delivering memorable dining experiences.

This is an opportunity to work alongside experienced chefs, use quality ingredients and be part of a professional kitchen team with high standards and a strong focus on development.

The Role

As part of the pastry team, you’ll be hands-on in preparing and delivering desserts, pastries and sweet creations to a consistently high standard.

You’ll work closely with the senior kitchen team to ensure the pastry section runs smoothly, while contributing creativity, attention to detail and a genuine passion for your craft.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and plating desserts, pastries and other sweet items
  • Working with both traditional Italian flavours and modern techniques
  • Supporting the day-to-day operation of the pastry section
  • Contributing ideas for seasonal desserts and menu development
  • Maintaining excellent mise en place, presentation and consistency
  • Monitoring product quality, stock levels and preparation requirements
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
  • Working collaboratively with the wider kitchen brigade

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience as a Pastry Chef in a restaurant, hotel or high-quality commercial kitchen
  • Has strong pastry, baking and dessert preparation skills
  • Brings creativity, precision and excellent attention to detail
  • Takes pride in presentation and consistent execution
  • Has a strong understanding of food safety, hygiene and kitchen standards
  • Can work confidently both independently and as part of a busy team
  • Is organised, reliable and calm under pressure
  • Has full Australian working rights
  • Holds a relevant culinary or pastry qualification, or equivalent industry experience
