Description
“Otic” means smart people doing smart work, together.
We are a wholly owned Australian company committed to helping our clients design and build intelligent software solutions that unlock value in their business.
Otic Group was formed to provide talented technology professionals an opportunity to work with not only some of the most prominent companies in Australia, but work with incredibly talented peers in an exciting, dynamic young environment.
Otic is seeking a hands-on IT Solution Engineer to translate enterprise architecture into detailed, build-ready solutions for a major retail energy transformation. The role spans integration, data, infrastructure, cybersecurity, testing and deployment. You’ll guide delivery teams, review vendor designs and ensure solutions meet architecture, governance, cost and technical-debt requirements.
The skills we’re looking for:
- Strong solution engineering and detailed solution design across integration, data, infrastructure and security.
- Ability to convert high-level architecture into build-ready specifications, including detailed designs, integration diagrams, ERDs, deployment views, coding standards and testing approaches.
- End-to-end technical understanding—from solution design through build, testing, deployment and transition into operations.
- Experience applying architecture patterns, principles, guardrails and governance while controlling technical debt.
- Cybersecurity, data privacy and data governance knowledge, including encryption, data classification and security controls.
- Agile delivery experience, ideally including PI planning and working with multiple delivery squads.
- Technical assurance capability—reviewing vendor designs and confirming the delivered solution matches the approved design.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including impact assessment, options analysis and risk identification.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, particularly with architects, engineering teams, senior leaders and external vendors.
- Ability to produce clear technical documentation and explain complex solutions to delivery teams.
- Retail energy industry experience across relevant technologies and processing environments.
- Commercial awareness covering licensing costs, delivery costs, vendor change requests and OPEX/CAPEX treatment.
All applicants must hold Australian Citizenship, Permanent Residency (PR), or other permanent work rights.
