Sustainability Officer 2027
About the Role
The Student Sustainability Officer will work as a bridge between the Head of Sustainability (and their subcommittee) and the College, to create tangible sustainable changes at Ormond College. Through monitoring the College’s Sustainability Action Plans, the Officer will ensure community action is taken to achieve the sustainability goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Championing key changes to improve the community’s waste, water, electricity and biodiversity outcomes
- Engaging with external organisations to promote sustainable practices at Ormond
- Creating sustainability reports and feeding back information to the community
- Attending fortnightly meetings with College staff and students to ensure sustainability goals are set and acted upon
- Demonstrating the ability to communicate verbally, electronically and in written form with Ormond students and staff
- Other duties as directed by Leadership
Eligibility
Applicants must be 18 years or older and 2nd or 3rd year Ormond residential student in 2027.
Successful applicants will also need to hold or obtain a Working with Children Check (Employee) and complete a GBV declaration if successful.
Students may hold a maximum of 2 casual Ormond roles at one time.
