Origin Support Services Pty Ltd is seeking a compassionate, resilient, and reliable Disability Support Workers to join our growing team in Bunbury.

At Origin Support Services, we provide person-centred, individualised support to people living with disabilities. Our services include:

  • Community Access
  • Assistance with daily living

This opportunity is for a casual position supporting participants within the community and their own home. The successful candidate must have good availability, weekends, and flexible hours, with the opportunity to progress into a permanent position for the right person.

 

Experience is preferred but not essential. We provide comprehensive on-the-job training along with access to a range of Origin Support Services WA resources and professional development opportunities.

About the Opportunity

As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide high-quality, person-centred support to participants, assisting them both at home and within the community while promoting independence, dignity, choice, and control.

Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with daily living activities and personal support.
  • Building positive, professional relationships with the participant.
  • Supporting attendance at appointments and community outings.
  • Assisting with community access, including shopping and recreational activities.
  • Completing household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised home environment.
  • Completing accurate shift notes and incident reports.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Prefer Female applicant only
  •  NDIS Worker Screening Clearance or willingness to obtain one.
  • Current driver’s licence.
  • Your own reliable vehicle with comprehensive or third-party property insurance suitable for transporting participants.
  • Experience supporting participants with mental health conditions and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Strong understanding of person-centered and trauma informed support practices.
  • Ability to remain calm, patient, and resilient while supporting participants with complex behaviours and emotional regulation needs.
  • Full working rights within Australia.
  • Availability to work weekends, flexible shifts.

Desirable (but not essential)

  • Certificate III or higher in Individual Support, Community Services, or a related qualification.
  • Experience supporting participants with complex or high-intensity needs.
  • Experience implementing Positive Behaviour Support strategies and Behaviour Support Plans.
  • Previous experience in disability support or a similar role.
  • Strong English communication skills and ability to build rapport with participants.
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are encouraged to apply.
