The opportunity
Reporting to the GM – Engineering & Projects, we are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering & Projects team in Brisbane.
This is a key technical authority role with broad ownership across OGT Energy’s mechanical integrity and engineering activities. You’ll be responsible for pressure equipment, pressure piping, pipelines and mechanical static equipment across the Wallumbilla LPG Plant, Silver Springs Gas Plant, Churchie Facility, wellhead assets and connecting pipeline network.
You’ll own and maintain our key integrity management systems, standards and registers, while providing the technical expertise and engineering judgement needed to keep our assets safe, reliable and fit for purpose.
The role will suit an engineer who enjoys being close to the assets, solving complex problems and taking ownership from identifying an issue through to developing and implementing the solution.
While the role is Brisbane-based, regular travel to our Surat Basin operations will be required.
Key responsibilities:
- Own mechanical integrity across OGT Energy’s gas processing facilities, pipelines and wellhead assets.
- Develop and maintain the FIMP, PIMP and key mechanical integrity registers.
- Lead inspection, integrity and maintenance programs for pressure equipment, piping, pipelines and PSVs.
- Undertake and certify mechanical engineering calculations, Fitness-for-Service and remaining life assessments.
- Provide mechanical technical authority across projects, Management of Change, HAZOPs and engineering deliverables.
- Identify integrity risks, develop practical solutions and take ownership through to resolution.
- Work closely with operations, projects, contractors and regulators to maintain safe, reliable assets.

Key skills and knowledge:
Essential
- Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent.
- Current RPEQ registration or eligible to attain it – Mechanical.
- Experience with pressure equipment integrity and relevant Australian Standards, including AS/NZS 3788, AS 1210 and AS 4041.
- Working knowledge and experience with AS 2885 pipeline integrity.
- Experience with mechanical design calculations and Fitness-for-Service assessments.
- Strong problem-solving, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Australian driver’s licence.
Desirable
- Experience with API 510 / 570 / 579, API 580 / 581, piping stress, MEX and Power Apps will be highly regarded.
