In just over a year, OCU has built a multi-business platform across Australia and New Zealand, spanning renewables, power infrastructure, piling, geotechnical engineering, energy advisory and high-voltage commissioning. Behind us is a Group that has just passed £1bn in revenue, with ambitious plans to keep growing, here in ANZ and internationally.

As our Senior Risk & Compliance Manager for ANZ, you’ll set the standard for how we manage risk and compliance across the region. Reporting to our General Counsel, with a dotted line to our UK Head of Risk & Compliance, you’ll take proven Group frameworks and make them work locally, partnering with our executive and senior leaders to help them make confident, well-informed decisions that keep our growth on solid ground.

What You’ll Do

• Bring OCU Group frameworks to life across ANZ, adapting them to local laws and regulations where it required.
• Keep a clear view of our ANZ legal and regulatory obligations, with accountable owners, practical controls and horizon scanning to stay ahead of regulatory change.
• Advise leaders on ethics, anti-bribery and corruption, competition law, sanctions, modern slavery and human rights, privacy, conflicts of interest and fraud, offering practical guidance and constructive challenge.
• Run the Group Risk Management Framework locally, including risk appetite, registers, KRIs and emerging risks, and lead workshops that help leaders own their risks and build them into planning, investment, acquisitions and delivery.
• Deliver independent, risk-based monitoring and assurance, and oversee remediation so root causes are fixed and controls genuinely strengthened.
• Manage compliance concerns, incidents and breaches, supporting investigations, root-cause analysis and corrective action, and escalating promptly when it matters
• Report clearly to ANZ leadership and Group governance forums, support governance committees, and keep our risk and compliance records and evidence audit-ready
• Act as the regional face of risk and compliance, working with Group, regulators, clients, certification bodies and external assurers, and building a proactive risk culture through practical training and guidance

What You’ll Bring

• A recognised risk, compliance or governance qualification, such as the IRM International Diploma, RMIA CPRM, Graduate Certificate in Compliance and Risk Management, or equivalent.
• A track record of embedding and improving risk frameworks, grounded in ISO 31000 and COSO ERM.
• Experience in fast-paced contracting environments, ideally in engineering, utilities, construction or energy.
• The judgement to be pragmatic, knowing when to hold the line and when to adapt.
• Experience working across global or multi-entity groups.
• The influence to challenge senior leaders and bring them with you.
• Clear, confident communication, on paper and in the boardroom.
• A knack for turning complexity into something simple and actionable.
