Summary:

The HIPPY Mentor plays a vital role in supporting families through the Home Interaction Program for Parents and Youngsters (HIPPY). This part-time position involves working closely with parents to enhance their children’s early learning experiences, fostering a positive environment for educational development. The Mentor will contribute to the charity’s mission of empowering families and promoting community engagement in Australia.

Responsibilities:

• Provide guidance and support to families participating in the HIPPY program.
• Facilitate home visits to assist parents in implementing educational activities with their children.
• Organise and lead group sessions for parents to share experiences and strategies.
• Monitor and evaluate the progress of families within the programme.
• Collaborate with local community organisations to enhance resources and support for families.
• Maintain accurate records of family engagement and progress.
• Participate in training and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

• Experience in community work or education, preferably in a mentoring or support role.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with families.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A passion for early childhood education and community development.
• Basic computer skills for record-keeping and communication.
• A valid Drivers Licence
• A valid Working with Children Check or equivalent.
• A National Police Check
