Summary:
The Community Development Manager will play a pivotal role in fostering community engagement and driving sustainable development initiatives in Broome, Western Australia. This position requires a dynamic leader who can collaborate with local stakeholders, manage projects, and implement strategies that enhance community wellbeing and economic growth. The successful candidate will be instrumental in aligning community needs with organisational goals, ensuring a positive impact on the local population.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement community development strategies that align with organisational objectives including innovative community, youth and employment initiatives.
- Building strong partnerships with Yawuru families, community members, elders, youth, employers, training providers, service organisations and government stakeholders to foster collaboration.
- Manage and oversee community projects from inception to completion, ensuring they meet budget, timeline and funding requirements.
- Conduct needs assessments and gather community feedback to inform program development.
- Facilitate workshops and community meetings to promote engagement and gather input on development initiatives.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of community program and report on outcomes to stakeholders.
- Prepare funding proposals and manage budgets for community development projects.
- Represent the organisation at community events and public forums to advocate for community interests.

Qualifications:
- Relevant tertiary quaifications in Community Development, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Proven experience in community development or project management, preferably in a managerial role.
- Strong understanding of community engagement principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
- A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the region as required.
- Ability to obtain a working with children check
