The Role

As an Assistant Store Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the Store Manager to deliver an outstanding customer experience while driving sales and operational excellence. This role is a maternity leave cover for a 12 month period.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll help coach and develop team members, manage daily store operations and contribute to the overall success of the store.

The key focus areas of the role include:

  • Supporting the day-to-day operation of the store
  • Delivering outstanding customer service and customer outcomes
  • Leading, coaching and developing team members
  • Driving sales performance and achieving store KPIs
  • Supporting recruitment, onboarding and training activities
  • Managing inventory levels and stock accuracy
  • Maintaining high standards of merchandising and store presentation
  • Resolving customer concerns and acting as an escalation point when required
  • Supporting store administration, reporting and operational processes

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Previous experience in an Assistant Store Manager, Team Leader or similar retail leadership role
  • Proven experience leading and developing teams
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
  • Experience driving sales performance and achieving targets
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience managing stock, inventory and retail operations
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities
