  • Fixed Term Full-time or Part-Time until 30 June 2027
  • 0.6 FTE, 45.6 hours/fortnight
  • 3 or 4 days / week

 ABOUT THE ROLE

The Every Child Every Day (ECED) Program Lead is responsible for leading the effective delivery, development and continuous improvement of the program in Carnarvon. ECED is a universal, community-based program that works alongside families, schools and the wider community to co-design and develop resources, activities and engagement strategies that promote early childhood development, school readiness, and the importance of children attending school every day. 

Through a strength based and child centred approach, the role provides leadership and direction to the ECED Facilitator, and works collaboratively with families, community stakeholders, schools and service providers to drive the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of program deliverables, while fostering meaningful community partnerships that support positive outcomes for children and families

 

DUTIES

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

  • Coordinate, implement and monitor the Every Child Every Day Program to ensure objectives, outcomes and funding requirements are achieved.
  • Build and maintain relationships with families, schools, other organisations and local networks to develop sustainable partnerships to create community driven projects responsive to local parenting needs.
  • Raise awareness in the community of early childhood development, school readiness and the importance of every child attending school every day through community engagement activities.
  • Facilitate informal workshops or yarning sessions that enable peer support networks and create opportunities for connections.
  • Facilitate opportunities for families to co-design and develop resources that promote the importance of the early years, support children’s healthy development and wellbeing, and encourage connections to early learning opportunities and education and care providers.
  • Ensure all elements of service delivery are culturally sensitive and cater for the specific needs of individual participants.
  • Provide day to day leadership, supervision and support for Program Facilitator.
  • Manage program resources and budgets responsibly, ensuring expenditure aligns with funding agreements and program goals.

 

ABOUT YOU

The successful candidate will be highly organised and have strong communication skills together with the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work or relevant qualifications in Community Services and/or working with target groups within Community Services sector.
  • Strong analytical skills that demonstrate an ability to identify and clarify issues and generate strategies to address them.
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills, including interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Well-developed computer and technology skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the social and emotional needs of a family.
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated experience in using, a strength based and holistic approach to work with families.
  • Demonstrated broad knowledge of child development and early brain development.
  • Knowledge of, and preferably experience working with, Aboriginal families and communities and culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CaLD) families.
  • Effective interpersonal and relationship building skills.

 

Role requirements

  • Able to work across other Ngala sites as required.
  • Possession of a current National Police Certificate (obtained within the last 6 months).
  • Possession of current WA driver’s licence.
  • Possession of a Working with Children Check Clearance.
