FACILITATOR – EVERY CHILD EVERY DAY
• Location: Carnarvon
• Fixed Term Full-time or Part-Time until 30 June 2027
• 0.6 FTE, 45.6 hours/fortnight over 3 or 4 days/week
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Every Child Every Day (ECED) Facilitator is responsible for delivering high quality, community-based activities and engagement initiatives that support the outcomes of ECED. Working alongside families, children, schools and community organisations, the Facilitator promotes early childhood development, school readiness, and the importance of regular school attendance for children aged 0-12 years.
Under the guidance of the ECED Program Lead, the role engages directly with families and community members to co-design and delivers workshops, events and educational activities to build knowledge, confidence and connections. Through a strength based, culturally safe and child centred approach, the Facilitator supports families to access services and opportunities that enhance children’s development and learning opportunities.
DUTIES
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Deliver ECED activities, workshops, events and community initiatives that promote early childhood development, school readiness and regular school attendance.
- Build positive relationships with families, children and community members.
- Encourage families, children and community members to participate in program activities using strengths-based and culturally inclusive approaches.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with key stakeholders.
- Support the implementation of program plans and contribute to achieving program outcomes and deliverables.
- Maintain accurate records, contribute to data collection and reporting, and support continuous improvement activities.
ABOUT YOU
The successful candidate will be highly organised and have strong communication skills together with the following:
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work or relevant qualifications in Community Services and/or working with target groups within Community Services sector.
- Strong analytical skills that demonstrate an ability to identify and clarify issues and generate strategies to address them.
- Well-developed oral and written communication skills, including interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Well-developed computer and technology skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of the social and emotional needs of a family.
- Knowledge of and demonstrated experience in using, a strength based and holistic approach to work with families.
- Demonstrated broad knowledge of child development and early brain development.
- Knowledge of, and preferably experience working with, Aboriginal families and communities and culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CaLD) families
- Effective interpersonal and relationship building skills.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
- Able to work across other Ngala sites as required.
- Possession of a current National Police Certificate (obtained within the last 6 months).
- Possession of current WA driver’s licence.
- Possession of a Working with Children Check Clearance.
