Internal Communications Advisor

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Internal Communications Advisor to proactively lead and deliver engaging internal communications for the New Zealand Law Society. This role plays a key part in ensuring our people are informed, connected, and engaged with the organisation’s strategy, priorities, and culture.

Working closely with leaders and key stakeholders across the organisation, you will develop and implement an internal communications schedule, create compelling content across our internal channels, and ensure our intranet (Manawa) is a trusted, user‑friendly source of information. You will be viewed as a trusted advisor, providing high‑quality communications guidance and support on organisation‑wide initiatives, including change and engagement activities.

You will also champion continuous improvement in how we communicate internally, ensuring messaging is timely, targeted, and aligned with our strategic direction and values.

Our ideal applicant will have:

  • At least five years’ experience in communications, with demonstrated experience delivering internal communications
  • Proven ability to develop and implement internal communications plans and campaigns
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and influence at all levels of the organisation
  • Excellent written communication skills and the ability to produce engaging content across multiple channels
  • Experience managing or contributing to SharePoint‑based intranet sites (superuser experience highly desirable)
  • A proactive, collaborative approach, with strong judgement and attention to detail
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in communications, or similar (PRINZ accreditation would be an advantage)
