Part-Time | 4 Days per Week (Monday–Thursday, 8:00am–4:00pm)

About the Role

We are seeking an entry-level HR Assistant who is passionate about people, culture, and the real-world challenges that come with human resources. This role is ideal for someone who is beginning their HR career and wants hands-on experience across compliance, recruitment, culture, safety, and administration within a values-driven organisation.

This is a supporting role, working closely with the HR / Safety Manager. It will suit someone who is comfortable contributing behind the scenes, values professional boundaries, and understands that HR is not always easy — but plays a critical role in creating a safe, compliant, and positive workplace for everyone.

Key Responsibilities

HR Compliance & Administration

  • Maintain and monitor employee compliance records to meet NDIS, safety, legislative, and audit requirements
  • Run compliance and certification reports and follow up with employees to ensure all requirements remain current
  • Assist with HR documentation, record keeping, and data management
  • Support workplace health and safety administration and reporting

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Support and manage the end-to-end recruitment lifecycle for Disability Support Workers
  • Coordinate job ads, screening, interviews, reference checks, and pre-employment checks
  • Oversee onboarding processes to ensure new employees are compliant, informed, and welcomed into the organisation
  • Maintain recruitment and onboarding records and trackers

Culture, Training & Safety Initiatives

  • Assist with the development and implementation of team culture initiatives
  • Support training coordination and tracking
  • Assist in rolling out safety initiatives and ensuring follow-through
  • Contribute ideas to improve employee experience while maintaining compliance and boundaries

Brand, Communications & Engagement

  • Support the organisation’s employer brand through social media and internal communications
  • Assist with staff communications, updates, and engagement initiatives
  • Help present New Haven Farm Home as an provider/employer of choice aligned with our values and purpose

About You

Skills & Experience

  • Strong computer and administrative skills
  • Good attention to detail and ability to manage/stay engaged in compliance-focused tasks
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Organised, reliable, and able to follow processes

Desirable (But Not Essential)

  • Currently studying or working towards a Certificate or Degree in HR, People Management, Psychology, or a related field
  • Previous experience in administration, HR support, or a people-focused role
  • Interest in the disability or community services sector
