Disability Support Worker – SIL (North Richmond Area)

New Haven Farm Home – Supported Independent Living

New Haven Farm Home is a highly regarded provider of Supported Independent Living (SIL) services, with a strong and long-standing reputation in the community for delivering quality, person-centred support.

We are currently seeking passionate and reliable Disability Support Workers to provide support to a client who has recently transitioned from a family home into supported living.

About the Role

This is a SIL support model providing structured daily support across a consistent roster.

The client:

  • Is non-verbal
  • Is mobile with the use of a walking frame
  • Can be transported in a standard vehicle
  • Enjoys arts and crafts and accessing the community

The client requires:

  • Full assistance with personal care and daily living activities
  • Support to participate in meaningful activities and outings

At times, the client may:

  • Become concerned in loud or busy environments
  • Be unsettled by unfamiliar individuals or situations

This role will suit someone who is patient, calm, observant, and responsive, with a genuine passion for supporting individuals to live fulfilling and independent lives.

Shift Times & Structure

We offer a structured, consistent roster with the following shift options:

  • Morning: 6:00am – 10:00am (Mon-Sun)
  • Day: 10:00am – 2:00pm (Mon, Sat, Sun)
  • Afternoon: 2:00pm – 10:00pm (Mon-Sun)
  • Sleepover: 10:00pm – 6:00am (Mon-Sun)
  • One staff member will be onsite at a time
  • You will be supported by a friendly and responsive team, with access to guidance and assistance whenever required

Permanent part-time roster lines have been designed to:

  • Provide regular and consistent hours
  • Support a balance between personal and professional commitments
  • Deliver strong outcomes and quality of life for the client

About You

We are looking for staff who:

  • Have a genuine passion for the disability sector
  • Demonstrate patience, empathy, and strong communication skills
  • Are confident supporting high personal care needs
  • Can adapt to individual communication styles and behaviours

Essential Requirements

  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • First Aid & CPR Certificate (current)
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Working With Children Check (WWCC) (or willingness to obtain)
  • Australian working rights
  • Relevant qualifications and/or experience in Disability, Aged Care, or Health (highly regarded)
