Who are we?
National Indigenous Network Initiative (NINI) is an inclusive, not-for-profit Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation based on Kaurna Country in Adelaide, South Australia.
We are dedicated to truth-telling and advancing self-determination through culturally safe, trauma-informed, and strengths-based therapeutic care that nurtures healing, strengthens social and emotional wellbeing, and supports mental health.
We are proud to be launching the Aboriginal Social & Emotional Wellbeing Centre in partnership with Sonder and OARS Community Transitions, jointly funded by the Commonwealth and South Australian Governments.
The Centre represents a new and exciting chapter for community connection, healing, and culture-led care.
About the Role
Join a role where culture is at the heart of healing, identity, and belonging.
As a Cultural Practitioner, you will embed Aboriginal culture, knowledge, and practices throughout the Centre. You will guide cultural safety, provide cultural support to Guests and staff, and lead cultural healing activities that strengthen identity and connection.
This is a powerful opportunity to shape a culturally led, community-focused service designed by community, for community.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide cultural support, education, and guidance across the Centre
- Facilitate cultural healing programs, workshops, and group activities
- Support Guests to strengthen identity, belonging, and connection
- Ensure culturally safe practices across all service areas
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community, Elders, and partners
- Contribute cultural knowledge to wellbeing planning and program development
- Maintain accurate records using the client management system
About You
- Strong cultural knowledge and community connection
- Experience supporting cultural healing or wellbeing programs
- Ability to provide cultural guidance and build respectful relationships
- Understanding of Social and Emotional Wellbeing principles
- Commitment to culturally safe and trauma-informed practice
Qualifications and Other Requirements
- Currently have or willing to receive the required vaccinations under the SA Health Policy
- Current or willing to obtain a Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Current or willing to obtain a National Police Check (NPC)
- Working with Vulnerable People Check
