NACCHO is seeking a motivated Senior Project Officer to lead and support medicines initiatives that improve health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

The National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO) is the national peak body representing 148 Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs). ACCHOs deliver comprehensive primary health care to more than half of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples nationally. 

  

About the Role 

The Senior Project Officer, Medicines, leads and manages projects that promote the quality use of medicines for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. As part of NACCHO’s Medicines Team, you’ll oversee key initiatives such as the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program and other community led national health programs, while also maintaining and enhancing Quality Use of Medicines (QUM) resources on the NACCHO medicines webpage.

The position offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute to culturally safe healthcare and engage with stakeholders across Australia, particularly within the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Sector.

Responsibilities of this role but not limited to: 

  • Advising on program strategy, coordinating overall project operations and ensuring that any relevant contractual requirements are met.
  • Providing coordination and support for applicable steering committees and advisory groups.
  • Leading the analysis, synthesis and reporting of sector feedback to ensure materials are suitable for use within the sector
  • Managing and coordinating staff to support completion of relevant quality use of medicines related programs and projects.

 

About You 

You are a collaborative and driven individual who is committed to making a meaningful impact. You will bring: 

  • Tertiary qualification in health and/or experience relevant to the position
  • Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples is highly desirable
  • Project management experience.
  • A valid WWVP clearance and National Police check or ability to obtain.
