ACCHOs deliver comprehensive primary health care to more than half of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples nationally. 

  

About the Role 

This is a unique opportunity to lead meaningful systems transformation and strengthen data capability across a nationally significant aged care program.

The Program Systems Lead provides national oversight of the data and digital systems that support the delivery, reporting and performance monitoring of the Elder Care Support (ECS) program. Working closely with NACCHO’s data and digital health expertise, Affiliates and ECS sites, the role strengthens data and systems capability across the program while ensuring systems are reliable, fit for purpose and support consistent service delivery across jurisdictions. The position plays a key role in ensuring culturally safe data practices and embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander data

sovereignty and governance principles to support improved outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders and communities.

Responsibilities of this role but not limited to: 

  • Lead the development, implementation of data systems, processes and tools supporting ECS delivery nationally.
  • Develop and maintain the Aged Care Data Management Strategy, including related policies, protocols and practices.
  • Provide national oversight of systems supporting ECS delivery, reporting and performance monitoring, including system troubleshooting, improvement and integration activities and consistency across jurisdictions.

About You 

To succeed in this role, you will bring: 

  • Tertiary qualifications in a Health Data Management, information Management or relevant field
  • Experience in digital platform development, systems management, vendor engagement and national program operations.
  • Understanding of data management in Aboriginal health settings, including use of clinical systems such as Communicare, MMEx, Medical Director and Best Practice, and extraction tools such as PenCAT, GRAHNITE, Primary Sense and POLAR.
  • ​Experience developing data strategies, policies, methodologies, standards and guidelines.
  • ​Strong expertise in health/data informatics, data governance, data management, data analysis and data quality. 
  • ​Working knowledge of Indigenous Data Governance and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander data sovereignty principles. 
  • A valid WWVP clearance and National Police check or ability to obtain.
