About NACCHO 

The National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO) is the national peak body representing 148 Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs). ACCHOs deliver comprehensive primary health care to more than half of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples nationally. 

About the Role

The Director, National Health Reform Agreement (NHRA) and National Sector Funding Agreement provides strategic leadership for the implementation of priorities of NHRA Monitoring and Accountability Group, delivery of National Sector Funding Agreement initiatives, and continuous quality improvement activities. Working within a complex intergovernmental environment, the role leads the analysis of health data and stakeholder insights to inform national reform priorities and decision-making. The Director oversees strategic and annual workplans, delivers high-level policy and executive advice, and ensures the preparation of quality briefings, submissions and reports. The role builds and maintains strong relationships with governments, peak bodies, ACCHOs and key stakeholders, while managing the National Sector Funding Agreement to ensure contractual, funding and reporting obligations are met

Responsibilities of this role but not limited to:

  • Provides leadership for the implementation of priorities under the NHRA, MAG, National Sector Funding Agreement, and Continuous Quality Improvement activities.
  • Lead and manage the NHRA and National Sector Funding team, including planning, performance management, mentoring and fostering a high performing team.
  • Ensure the effective management and delivery of the NHRA and National Sector Funding Agreement obligations, including program performance, contractual compliance, reporting requirements and funded activities.
  • Synthesize evidence, stakeholder feedback and data insights into clear, practical and actionable advice for decision-makers.

  • Qualifications in relevant discipline will be highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated policy experience is required.
  • Experience working in a similar organisation or relevant government department will be well regarded.
  • A valid WWVP clearance and National Police check or ability to obtain.
