Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our team. In this role, you will provide support and guidance to individuals with challenging behaviours, helping them achieve their goals and improve their quality of life. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the community while working in a flexible environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments to identify the needs and preferences of individuals with challenging behaviours.
  • Develop and implement positive behaviour support plans tailored to each individual.
  • Provide training and support to families and caregivers on effective behaviour management strategies.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of behaviour support plans, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure a holistic approach to care.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of interventions and progress.
  • Advocate for the rights and needs of individuals within the community.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities or challenging behaviours.
  • Strong understanding of positive behaviour support principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and training.
