Production Operators — Casual & Permanent Positions
Howlong, NSW |Casual & Permanent Full-time available |Monday to Friday |
We’ve just finished a multi-million dollar factory upgrade — and we’re growing our production team to match it.
Murray River Pet Food is a proudly Australian, family-owned business on the Murray River, making high-quality, air-dried pet food and treats for wholesale, retail and private label brands. We currently have both permanent full-time and casual Production Operator positions available for people with some production or manufacturing experience who are ready to bring that experience to a growing team.
About the role
As a Production Operator, you’ll work as part of our production team to help keep the line running safely, efficiently and to our quality standards. You’ll work alongside your Team Leader day to day, with support to build on the experience you bring.
Casual or permanent – which suits you?
We’re hiring for both, and it’s worth thinking about which fits your situation:
- Casual suits you if you want flexibility around your availability and don’t need guaranteed hours each week.
- Permanent full-time suits you if you want a regular Monday to Friday pattern and access to paid leave entitlements (annual leave, personal/carer’s leave, and more).
Let us know your preference when you apply and we’ll talk it through with you.
What you’ll be doing
On the line
- Safely and accurately operate production equipment
- Help identify process or equipment issues and flag these to your Team Leader
- Weigh, measure and follow recipes accurately
Keeping things running smoothly
- Maintain a clean, tidy work area and complete sanitation duties as part of your shift
- Follow SOPs and work instructions to keep operations consistent and safe
- Spot and report hazards, and help maintain high housekeeping standards
Safety first
- Work safely and follow all WHS policies and procedures
- Contribute to a strong safety culture on the floor
What you’ll bring
- Some previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment – food production experience is a strong advantage
- A team-oriented attitude and good communication skills
- A mechanically or process-minded approach to your work
- The ability to prioritise and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- An understanding of GMP, HACCP and WHS practices is a plus
You’ll also need:
- A current driver’s licence
- Eligibility to work in Australia
- To complete a pre-employment medical (including hearing test) and drug and alcohol screening
This is a physically active, production-floor role involving standing for extended periods, some lifting, and wearing PPE for extended periods. We’re happy to talk through what that looks like day-to-day.
Shifts run Monday to Friday, with some flexibility around hours occasionally needed to support production.
