About the Role,
We are seeking a motivated Garden and Maintenance Support Worker to join our team as soon as possible. In this role, you will support the individual needs of aged clients living at home by maintaining and enhancing their garden environments. You’ll also work alongside our Home Maintenance and Modification team on tasks as directed.
You will primarily be working across Mt Gravatt and surrounding suburbs, delivering high-quality services that promote safety, enjoyment, and accessibility. The role is paid at the relevant award level according to Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services (SCHADS) Award 2024

Responsibilities:
- Lawn mowing, weeding, hedge trimming, pruning, and general garden upkeep
- Operate and maintain hand tools and powered equipment (e.g., mowers, blowers, whipper snippers)
- Clear garden waste, manage weed control, and ensure garden safety
- Create cost estimates and written quotes for gardening services
- Use a mobile app for scheduling, job reporting, and documentation
- Identify and report client risks or job issues to your supervisor
- Maintain compliance with workplace health and safety guidelines
- Assist with promotional activities such as distributing flyers and engaging with potential clients
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year experience in a similar gardening/landscaping role
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to operate lawn care tools and machinery effectively
- Solid plant knowledge including horticultural practices
- High level of physical fitness; ability to work outdoors year-round under varying weather conditions
- Strong understanding of workplace health & safety practices related to gardening tasks
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
- Excellent time management skills along with strong organizational abilities
- Current valid QLD Driver License
- Willingness to obtain criminal history check
- Legal right to work in Australia
