THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking an experienced Nurse Unit Manager, 2nd in
Charge to support the Nurse Unit Manager in leading the nursing department
across Monarch Mental Health Group’s national clinic network.
This role will have a strong focus on clinical
compliance, accreditation readiness, audit preparation, clinic room set-up,
clinical documentation standards, policy implementation and quality improvement.
Working closely with the Nurse Unit Manager, General
Manager, psychiatrists, nurses and clinic teams, you will help ensure that our
nursing services are delivered safely, consistently and in accordance with
clinical, regulatory, accreditation and organisational requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role, you will:
- Support
the Nurse Unit Manager in the leadership and oversight of nursing services
across Australia
- Act
as the second-in-charge for the nursing department when required
- Lead
and coordinate accreditation preparation activities across clinic
locations
- Conduct
internal clinical audits and follow up on action items
- Review
clinic room set-up, equipment, consumables and clinical readiness
standards
- Ensure
treatment rooms and nursing areas are maintained in line with clinical,
safety and infection control requirements
- Support
the implementation and review of nursing policies, procedures and
workflows
- Monitor
clinical documentation standards and assist with documentation audits
- Support
incident review, risk management and quality improvement activities
- Assist
with onboarding, training and competency checks for nursing staff
- Work
closely with nurses to ensure consistent practice across all clinic
locations
- Support
infection control, medication safety, patient safety and clinical
governance processes
- Assist
with interstate site visits, audits and clinic readiness reviews as
required
- Escalate
clinical compliance risks to the Nurse Unit Manager and General Manager in
a timely manner
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Current
AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum
5 years’ post-registration nursing experience
- Previous
experience as a senior nurse, CNS, ANUM, NUM, clinical lead or
compliance-focused nurse
- Recent
experience in mental health, addiction services, behavioural health,
psychiatric services or a related clinical setting
- Strong
understanding of clinical governance, accreditation, audit and patient
safety requirements
- Experience
reviewing clinical documentation, policies, procedures and workflows
- Strong
attention to detail and ability to identify compliance gaps
- Ability
to support staff training, competency reviews and clinical improvement
initiatives
- Excellent
communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability
to work autonomously and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
- Strong
commitment to confidentiality, professional integrity and high clinical
standards

LOCATION
This role is based in our Sydney CBD clinic at 131 York
Street, Sydney, near Town Hall and the QVB, with occasional interstate
travel to support our broader clinic network.
