Find the people who make Microflite fly

A pilot with the right ratings for a new contract. A reservations team ready for peak season. An engineer who can start before the next maintenance check.

Behind every one of them is a recruitment campaign, a stack of checks and a first day that has to go right.

We’re looking for a Recruitment Officer to make that journey happen.

About the Role

This is a new role in our People & Culture team, created as Microflite Group grows. Reporting to our People & Culture Manager, you’ll manage recruitment across the Group, from an approved vacancy through to a new starter’s first weeks, and coordinate offboarding when people move on.

You’ll partner with hiring managers across flight operations, engineering, guest services and head office to understand what they need, then find, screen and shortlist the right people. Aviation brings its own requirements, including ASIC, licences, ratings, medicals and drug and alcohol testing, and you’ll make sure every one is in place before day one.

You’ll also shape how we recruit. Using Employment Hero, you’ll build the checklists, workflows and reporting that make hiring and onboarding consistent, and you’ll work with our Marketing team so every job ad reflects the Microflite brand. With four businesses and bases across Victoria, Tasmania, Queensland, Western Australia and the Northern Territory, you’ll recruit right across the country.

Why Microflite Group?

Proudly 100% Australian owned and operated, Microflite Group has grown from a single-aircraft charter operation in 2005 into a national aviation group led by Chief Executive Rodney Higgins. Its four businesses employ more than 175 people and operate a fleet of more than 30 aircraft from bases across Victoria, Tasmania, Queensland, Western Australia and the Northern Territory.

Microflite Aviation delivers premium charter, specialist aerial services, and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance for government and industry. Par Avion offers scenic and wilderness flights into the UNESCO World Heritage listed Tasmanian Wilderness, while Airlines of Tasmania provides community and business charters, including island services and freight. Cambridge Airport in Hobart is the home of the Group’s Tasmanian operations.

Guided by its vision to set the benchmark for excellence in aviation, Microflite Group continues to invest in modern aircraft, its people and infrastructure to grow its services across Australia.

What You’ll Do

As the Recruitment Officer, you’ll play a key role in attracting, selecting, and welcoming great people into Microflite Group. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle for approved vacancies across all Microflite Group entities.
  • Partner with hiring managers on position requirements, selection criteria and timelines, making sure position descriptions and approvals are in place before recruitment begins.
  • Draft and publish job ads with our Marketing team, and source candidates through job boards, LinkedIn, industry networks and agencies.
  • Build talent pipelines for recurring, specialist and hard-to-fill roles.
  • Screen applications, conduct initial interviews and prepare shortlists and recommendations.
  • Coordinate interviews, reference checks and candidate communication, keeping every candidate informed.
  • Coordinate pre-employment checks, including medicals, drug and alcohol testing, police and background checks, working rights, and aviation requirements such as ASIC, licences and ratings.
  • Prepare offers, contracts and new starter documentation using approved templates.
  • Run pre-onboarding, onboarding and corporate induction in Employment Hero, working with IT, Office & Facilities and Safety so new starters are ready on day one.
  • Report on vacancies, time to fill and sourcing effectiveness, and keep improving how we recruit and onboard.

What You’ll Bring

Essential

  • Experience in recruitment, talent acquisition or HR administration across the employee lifecycle.
  • A strong understanding of sourcing, screening, interviewing and selection practices.
  • Experience coordinating pre-employment checks, offers, contracts and onboarding.
  • The ability to manage several vacancies at once without losing track of the detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, and the ability to build trust with candidates and hiring managers.
  • Discretion with confidential information, and a working knowledge of Australian employment and privacy requirements.
  • Confidence with HRIS or applicant tracking systems and Microsoft Office.

Highly Desirable

  • Experience with Employment Hero.
  • Recruitment experience in aviation, transport, engineering or another regulated, safety-critical industry.
  • Experience improving recruitment or onboarding processes.

What We Offer

Get in the air – properly.

Flights to enjoy with family and friends, and seats on empty leg flights to and from the city when they come up.

Work that visibly matters.

In a close knit team, your contribution won’t get lost in a crowd. You’ll see its impact and be recognised for it.

Genuine progression.

Internal training and development, and real opportunity to advance as we grow.

A team that looks after each other.

A confidential Employee Assistance Program, and a leadership team that treats wellbeing and work life balance as more than a line in an ad.

A company investing in the future.

We’re pioneering sustainable aviation practices and exploring advanced air mobility. There’s a lot still to build here.

How to Apply?

Send us your CV and a short cover note. A few honest paragraphs about a hard-to-fill role you filled, and what you did differently, will tell us far more than a template ever could.

Applications close on 6 November 2026. We’ll review applications as they arrive and may interview before the closing date, so if the role interests you, we encourage you to apply early.
