About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Water Management and Project Lead to take ownership of water management, compliance and key water-related projects at Metung Hot Springs.
Reporting to the General Manager Operations Metung, this project-based role will provide dedicated leadership and coordination across all water-related matters, ensuring water systems and projects are sustainable, compliant and operationally effective.
You will lead the development and implementation of the Site Water Management Plan and coordinate a range of important water and environmental initiatives, including water treatment solutions, constructed wetland implementation and developing a sustainable pathway for compliant discharge.
Working closely with the Water System Manager – Peninsula Hot Springs & Metung Hot Springs, General Manager Operations Metung, operational teams, regulators, technical specialists and external consultants, you will:
- Lead and coordinate the Site Water Management Plan, including monitoring, reporting and risk management.
- Support regulatory compliance and maintain relationships with EPA Victoria, water authorities, catchment management authorities and other relevant stakeholders.
- Coordinate specialist technical investigations and manage consultants including hydrogeologists, environmental scientists, aquatic ecologists and engineering specialists.
- Oversee water quality monitoring, sampling and validation programs and use data to support water system optimisation and compliance.
- Develop practical SOPs, documentation and record-keeping systems for water treatment, wetlands, discharge management and monitoring.
- Coordinate contractors, consultants and suppliers to ensure projects are delivered safely, effectively and to agreed outcomes.
- Translate technical advice and project requirements into practical outcomes for the operation.
- Lead operational handover and support training to ensure new systems and processes are ready for ongoing operations.
- Identify and manage operational, environmental, regulatory and project risks, providing regular updates to the General Manager.

About You
You are an experienced water, environmental or project professional who enjoys working across technical, operational and stakeholder environments. You are comfortable working independently, coordinating multiple parties and turning technical requirements into practical solutions.
You will bring:
- Demonstrated experience delivering water, environmental or infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of environmental and regulatory compliance frameworks.
- Experience managing projects, contractors, consultants and specialist technical providers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret information and identify practical solutions.
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to develop clear and practical systems, procedures, reports and documentation.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the confidence to work with regulators, technical specialists, contractors and operational teams.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to coordinate multiple priorities, projects and stakeholders.
- The ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with the broader Metung Hot Springs and Peninsula Hot Springs teams.
- A practical and solutions-focused approach, with a strong commitment to safety, environmental responsibility and compliance.
- A valid driver’s licence.
- Willingness to obtain a National Police Check.
