Little Citizens is looking for relieving staff to support our Kaiako covering annual leave and unplanned absences. We are looking for relieving teachers to cover all age groups in the centre with the opportunity to have forward planned rosters as well as shifts on short notice. - Little Citizens provides social support, 3 meals a day, and low fees in South Dunedin
- Each child is valued and respected and has the opportunity to grow and learn on the way to leading a fulfilling life
- Conveniently located on Oxford Street we offer programmes for tamariki from 0-5 years of age and are licensed for 75 children.
- Our operating hours are, Monday to Friday, 7.45am – 5.30pm.

About the Role
Relieving Kaiako work across all age groups in the centre assisting the teaching team with learning and play in the teaching space. Assistance with meals for tamariki and break cover are part of the role.
Experienced qualified and registered Kaiako are preferred and we will consider unqualified relievers with a passion for working with tamariki aged 0 – 5.

To be successful in this role you will have the following:
- ECE/Primary qualifications and current Registration (preferred) in New Zealand
- Passion for quality practice standards and commitment to the principles of Te Whāriki
- A nurturing, caring disposition and passion for supporting young children to thrive
- Experience managing challenging behaviours in the teaching and learning space
- The ability to build and maintain responsive relationships with children and their whānau
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- An understanding of Te Tiriti and what partnership looks like in a multicultural centre
