Play a vital role behind the scenes of professional football, helping ensure player safety on matchday

Summary:

The Match Day Stretcher Bearer supports the safe delivery of Melbourne City FC matches by remaining ready to assist team medical staff in the event of a player injury.

 

This opportunity is ideally suited to someone who is studying, qualified or has a special interest in a sports health related area.

 

Learning Outcomes 

Our commitment to you is to guide you to achieve the following by the end of your placement: 

  • Correctly set up relevant equipment prior to team warm-ups 
  • Actively respond to directions from match officials and medical staff 
  • Correctly move and use relevant equipment in the field of play 
  • Participate in the safe and coordinated movement of an injured player 
  • Identify and respond to safety and safeguarding risks in accordance with organisational policies and procedures 
  • Work effectively as part of a large team to complete assigned match-day and event responsibilities and meet operational goals
