Working within our Minor Works and Projects teams, you’ll support major public and private sector clients, including utilities, water infrastructure, processing facilities, manufacturing plants, and automated industrial environments.

About the Role

You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, fault finding, commissioning and repair of electrical, instrumentation and control systems across a broad range of industrial sites.

This position is ideal for a technician who enjoys solving problems, working with advanced control systems and automation technology, and delivering practical solutions that make a real impact for clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain and repair low voltage electrical systems, switchgear and control circuits.
• Conduct fault finding and troubleshooting on electrical, instrumentation and control systems.
• Install, calibrate and maintain instrumentation including pressure, flow, temperature and level devices.
• Maintain and troubleshoot analyser systems including pH, Conductivity, ORP and Turbidity.
• Work with PLC-based control systems and process automation equipment.
• Read and interpret IFC drawings, electrical schematics, instrumentation drawings and technical documentation.
• Perform preventative maintenance activities to maximise plant reliability and minimise downtime.
• Complete industrial installation and commissioning works.
• Participate in shutdown activities and reasonable overtime requirements when required.
• Collaborate with clients, stakeholders and team members to deliver quality outcomes.
• Maintain a strong commitment to safety, quality and industry best practices.

About You:

Essential Requirements:

• Current QLD Electrical Fitter/Mechanic Licence.
• Certificate III or IV in Instrumentation.
• 3-5 years post-trade experience.
• Current White Construction Induction Card.
• Current CPR & LVR Certificate.
• Current Manual QLD Driver’s Licence.
• Strong industrial fault-finding capability.
• Experience with industrial electrical installations.
• Understanding of PLCs and control systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and instrumentation drawings.
• Strong knowledge of AS/NZS 3000 and workplace health and safety requirements.
• Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Positive attitude and commitment to quality workmanship.

Desirable:

• Experience working within utilities, water or wastewater infrastructure.
• Experience in high-speed manufacturing or processing environments.
• Knowledge of SCADA, PLC and Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
• Experience with complex industrial projects.
• Exposure to MV and HV systems.
• Strong understanding of automation systems and industrial processes.
