Join our team at Medtech as our Payments Operations Manager
Our Payments Operations Manager is responsible for the smooth day-to-day execution and compliance of our new Payments business (Medeor), as we grow our footprint across the healthcare ecosystem in New Zealand and Australia.
Medtech has had an online Payments presence for almost two years, and we are now pivoting into Point-of-Sale terminals for Medical Practices and Pharmacies. We need an exceptional talent to help scale this business operationally, owning the deployment roadmap and holding our supplier network and our own teams to account to ensure a smooth experience for our customers.
This is a key role, which requires an eye for detail and a passion for operational excellence.
Our Organisation
Medtech is the market-leading provider of primary health tech solutions in New Zealand. We provide advanced practice management software and other state-of-the-art health technology solutions that enable health professionals to provide ‘healthier care’.
Our payments solution Medeor, is a first-in-New Zealand, fully integrated and end-to-end offering from Patient Invoice through to Bank Reconciliation, enabling practices to save hours (if not days) of time every month reconciling their patient transactions in the PMS.
Our wish here was simple: build a product that removed genuine pain from practices, so they can reinvest that time into delivering better and more satisfying care.

• Management and running of governance steering committees across partner network
• Ensuring our own adherence to SLA’s across partner network, and escalating issues as appropriate
• Ensuring all merchants onboarded meet the AML/CTF and Credit policies
• Ensuring all transactions processed by a merchant fall within our Credit policies.
• Ensuring settlements are reviewed before disbursement ensuring they fall within Credit policies.
• Ensuring the process landscape meets the needs of both internal and external audit and assurance.
• Identifying any new payment related risks as they become apparent and to work with the GM Medeor and the Compliance manager to implement all policies, procedures and processes to eliminate, mitigate or manage the risk.
• Leading and managing a team of payments analysts, ensuring they are performing to a high standard, the work is compliant to the identified regulations/boundaries, and within the risk framework
• Supporting GM Medeor to ensure that Medeor policies and processes remain fit for purpose and within the stated risk appetite of the business.
What you bring to the role
• Demonstrable experience in a similar leadership role within a regulated and at-scale transactional finance environment (preferably within Payments)
• You have successfully developed robust operational outcomes in a context of a growth business
• An embrace for high-intensity, high-pressure programmes of work that require you to be at your best
• A love and passion for getting your hands dirty when needed – This is not a governance role, it’s an execution role

• Highly numerate with excellent attention to detail
• High quality excel & powerpoint skills for reporting, analysis, and stakeholder management
