The Opportunity 

We are currently seeking expressions of interest from motivated and high-performing Law Students who are looking to gain practical legal experience while completing their studies. 

This is a casual opportunity designed to complement your university commitments, with successful candidates available to work a minimum of three days per week. Opportunities may arise across a variety of practice groups and business units within the firm, providing valuable exposure to different areas of law and legal practice. 

 

As a Law Clerk at McInnes Wilson Lawyers, you will become part of a supportive and collaborative team, receive on-the-job training, and have the opportunity to learn from experienced Solicitors, Senior Associates, Special Counsel and Principals. You’ll gain hands-on experience and develop the practical skills needed to build a successful legal career. 

 

Who We Are Seeking 

We’re looking for enthusiastic and driven law students currently studying towards a Bachelor of Laws who are eager to apply their academic knowledge in a professional environment.

What You Will Be Doing 

Depending on the practice area and business unit, your responsibilities may include: 

  • Assisting solicitors and legal teams with a range of legal matters 
  • Conducting legal research and preparing summaries and reports 
  • Drafting legal correspondence and court-related documents 
  • Assisting with file management and matter administration 
  • Preparing briefs and supporting documentation 
  • Attending client meetings, conferences, mediations and court proceedings where appropriate 
  • Communicating with clients and other stakeholders via phone, email and in person 
  • Providing general support to legal practitioners in the conduct of their matters
