MCA Engineering is now seeking a Civil Project Engineer to join our growing Project team, based in our head office in Thornton NSW, to take a ‘hands-on’ approach working with the team and established workshop. This role may require some travel to our other branches or sites we are working on. You and the team will be responsible for delivering, end to end, exceptional products and services to exceed expectations. The successful candidate will ideally be based in Maitland NSW or the surrounding area.

Responsibilities:
- Assist in conversion of quotations, reports, project specifications, construction schedules, plans, permits and designs to enable work packs and execution plans as well as variations.
- Participate in project meetings and provide technical and engineering support to the project stakeholders.
- Coordinate and communicate with Engineering department any deviations from the customer scope of work that requires engineering design input.
- Maintain compliance to appropriate client and project specific specifications and manage / monitor change as required.
- Review technical drawings prepared by MCA Engineering department and be able to communicate / articulate solutions to customer as well as feedback.
- Prepare preliminary / concept sketches and engineering inputs for communication to Engineering for solution development of customer project issues.
- Undertake regular on-site inspections and deal with problems arising during execution.
About you:
- A Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or relevant experience in heavy industry or construction engineering or other related industries
- Experience in Scheduling Software, P6 is preferred
- Ability to read and interpret (multi-disciplinary) technical documents and plans
- Familiar with relevant Australian and Industry Standards.
- Strong communication skills
- Team player and able to develop and foster constructive relationships.
- Ability to travel to sites throughout Australia.
- A can-do attitude with the drive to succeed.
- Ability to work autonomously when required.
- High-level of attention to details
- Comprehensive knowledge of the construction industry
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment
