About the Role

We are seeking experienced Pipe Fitters and Operators to carry out piping installation, equipment operation and associated construction works across ongoing underground and surface mining projects in Mt Isa.

Pipe Fitters will prepare, fit and install pipework, valves, fittings and supports, working from drawings and specifications to deliver accurate, high-quality installations.

Operators will operate plant and equipment suited to their experience, qualifications and site authorisations, supporting construction activities and the movement of materials and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Depending on your role, experience and qualifications, your duties may include:

• Read and interpret piping drawings and specifications.
• Measure, mark out, cut and prepare pipes for installation.
• Fit and install pipework, valves, flanges and associated fittings.
• Install pipe supports, brackets and associated components.
• Align pipework and assemble flanged, threaded and other specified connections.
• Assist with pressure testing, inspections and commissioning activities.
• Operate plant and equipment to support underground and surface construction works.
• Load, move and position materials and equipment.
• Complete pre-start inspections and routine equipment checks.
• Identify and report equipment faults, installation issues and material requirements.
• Follow site safety procedures and maintain a safe, organised work area.

About You

• Pipe Fitters: Relevant trade qualification and demonstrated pipe fitting experience.
• Operators: Relevant tickets, licences or competencies, with demonstrated operating experience.
• Experience in mining or industrial environments.
• Underground mining experience preferred.
• For Pipe Fitters, the ability to interpret piping drawings and isometrics, with practical knowledge of pipework, fittings, valves and installation methods.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
• Strong safety focus and understanding of mining site procedures.
• Current unrestricted driver’s licence.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol testing.
