About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Hydraulic Design Engineer to support the design and development of hydraulic power packs and associated systems.

Working closely with our engineering and workshop teams, you will develop hydraulic circuits, select components and prepare technical documentation to support manufacture and assembly.

You will consider operating requirements, equipment interfaces, safety and maintainability to deliver practical, reliable hydraulic solutions. The role will also involve technical support during assembly, testing and commissioning.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop hydraulic power pack designs to suit project specifications and equipment requirements.
  • Prepare hydraulic circuit diagrams, schematics and technical specifications.
  • Complete calculations for system pressure, flow, power requirements and heat generation.
  • Select and size pumps, motors, valves, reservoirs, filtration and cooling equipment.
  • Develop power pack layouts, considering component access, maintenance and installation requirements.
  • Prepare component schedules, bills of materials and supporting design documentation.
  • Liaise with suppliers to confirm component suitability, availability and technical details.
  • Support workshop teams during manufacture, assembly and system installation.
  • Assist with testing, troubleshooting and verification of system performance.
  • Contribute to design risk assessments and design reviews.

 

About You

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience designing hydraulic power packs and hydraulic systems.
  • Experience with Automation Studio
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic circuits, component selection and system performance.
  • Ability to complete engineering calculations and interpret operating requirements.
  • Experience preparing hydraulic schematics, technical specifications and bills of materials.
  • Proficiency in CAD software for hydraulic schematics and equipment layouts.
  • Practical understanding of manufacture, assembly, testing and maintenance requirements.
