About the Role

As a Software Engineer at LSC, you will design, develop and maintain cross‑platform applications using C++,Qt and QML, targeting Linux, Windows, macOS, iOS and Android with exposure to embedded systems.

You’ll work within a small, highly skilled engineering team to deliver industrial and commercial software products with a strong focus on user experience, reliability and maintainability. This role is accountable for delivering well‑designed, efficient and reliable software, contributing to product architecture, supporting cross‑functional teams, and ensuring high‑quality code throughout the development lifecycle.

What you will do

You will contribute to the full software development lifecycle, including:

  • Develop software in C++ and QML (primarily using the Qt framework) for Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS and Android.
  • Build web services and interfaces using REST and related technologies.
  • Apply object‑oriented design, software modelling and architectural principles.
  • Integrate software with hardware, computing systems and embedded platforms.
  • Conduct software testing, debugging, optimisation and code reviews.
  • Maintain version control and bug tracking systems.
  • Perform unit, integration and system testing.
  • Produce release documentation and support handover to production.
  • Provide technical input to product design, feasibility assessments and development planning
  • Support QA, Manufacturing and Customer Support as required.
  • Investigate and adopt new technologies relevant to product development.

What you’ll bring

Essential skills & experience

  • Minimum 5 years relevant industry experience.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar.
  • Strong proficiency in modern C++.
  • Experience developing applications using the Qt Framework, Widgets and QML.
  • Hands‑on development experience in Windows and macOS environments. Working knowledge of Linux development.
  • Knowledge of web technologies, including REST APIs, JavaScript, HTTP and XML.
  • Understanding of TCP/IP networking concepts.
  • Experience developing multi‑threaded applications.
  • Strong capability in software architecture and design.
  • Working knowledge of macOS development or deployment.
  • Ability to work independently across the full development lifecycle.
  • Right to work in Australia.

Desired skills

  • Experience with macOS, iOS or Android app deployment.
  • Experience, web Gui frameworks, Python or other scripting languages.
  • Exposure with embedded Linux environments.
  • Exposure with ARM Cortex‑M or NXP processors.
  • Exposure to Bluetooth communications (e.g. BLE).
  • Understanding of Agile development practices.
