The Opportunity
Reporting to the Cropping 2IC, you’ll play an important role across our farming operations, supporting potato production, broadacre cropping, livestock and general farm activities.
From preparing paddocks and planting crops to spraying, harvest operations and operating modern agricultural machinery, no two days are the same. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work and wants to build a long-term career in agriculture.
Your day-to-day work may include but is not limited to:
- Ground preparation, seeding, planting and fertiliser application
- Spraying and harvest operations
- Operating and maintaining tractors, telehandlers, headers, chaser bins and other agricultural machinery
- Livestock duties, including sheep work
- Fencing and general farm maintenance
- Working safely while contributing to Longtrail’s strong safety culture
What You Will Bring
Essential:
- A minimum of two years’ experience in agriculture or farming
- Experience operating agricultural machinery
- A current Driver’s Licence
- ChemCert (or willingness to obtain)
- Forklift Licence (or willingness to obtain)
- A strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A willingness to learn and develop new skills
- The ability to meet the physical demands of the role
Desirable:
- HR Truck Licence
- Experience with John Deere GPS or AgWorld
