About the Role

Long Energy is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our Brisbane team. This is an opportunity to contribute to a diverse portfolio of energy and resources projects, working across Oil and Gas, New Energy, Pipelines and BioGas.

The successful candidate will deliver high-quality mechanical engineering designs, specifications and technical solutions that meet client requirements, project objectives and applicable regulatory standards. Working across all phases of project delivery, from concept development and detailed design through to construction, commissioning and asset optimisation, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, practical and effective engineering outcomes.

This role will also provide opportunities to share technical knowledge and support the development of junior engineers within the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver mechanical engineering designs, specifications, calculations and technical solutions in accordance with project requirements, relevant standards and regulatory obligations.
• Contribute to projects across Long Energy’s Oil and Gas, New Energy, Pipelines and BioGas portfolios.
• Provide engineering support throughout the project lifecycle, including concept development, detailed design, procurement, construction, commissioning and asset optimisation.
• Prepare and review technical documentation to ensure engineering deliverables meet required standards for quality, accuracy and completeness.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering teams, clients, contractors and other stakeholders to achieve project objectives relating to scope, cost, schedule and quality.
• Provide technical input and engineering support to resolve design challenges and address project requirements.
• Assist in mentoring and developing junior engineers through technical guidance, knowledge sharing and review of engineering deliverables.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in engineering practices, design quality and project delivery.

About You

You are a technically capable and collaborative Mechanical Engineer who enjoys working on varied projects and delivering practical engineering solutions. You bring sound engineering judgement, a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent recognised qualification.
• Approximately 4–10 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.
• Experience delivering mechanical engineering designs and technical documentation within an engineering consultancy, EPCM or project delivery environment.
• An understanding of relevant engineering standards, codes and regulatory requirements.
• The ability to interpret technical requirements and develop fit-for-purpose engineering solutions.
• Strong communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes within project timeframes.
• An interest in supporting the development of junior engineers and contributing to a positive team environment.

Experience across energy, resources, Oil and Gas, pipelines or related industries would be highly regarded.
