Killara Kids Incorporated is a not for profit centre providing high quality before and after school care and vacation care to children and families of the Killara/Ku-ring-gai community.

Killara Kids offers a warm, caring and engaging environment for staff, children and families. At KK, we want the children in our care to feel at home whilst providing them with a secure environment to grow and learn.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Killara Kids is currently seeking Part time Educators to fill before and after school care as well as vacation care. We are looking for an active person who will strive nurture and develop children’s life skills, which compliments children’s experiences, opportunities and relationships; in school, at home and in the community. The role requires Educators to engage with children aged 5-12 years old, and ensure children are supervised and cared for at all times.

To be successful in this position you will be passionate and love working with children. You will need to be motivated, enthusiastic, energetic and dedicated to providing children with the best possible childhood experiences. You will have a cooperative approach to working with staff and families.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Adhere to all policies and procedures;

Building relationships with children, their families and school staff;

Implementation of the service program based on the children’s interest;

Join in team sub-committees

Ensure a high standard of quality education and care is provided to children at all times

Contributing and preparing a nutritional menu for all children

Evaluate and reflect on activities; and,

Contribute to the service’s Quality Improvement Plan

Other duties as required by the Educational Leader / Nominated Supervisor

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualification or willingness to obtain

Current Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain
