Leadership Opportunities at Kalis Group

If you know how to run a great shift and build a team people want to work for, we’d like to know you.

Kalis Group is a proudly Tasmanian-owned hospitality business, and we’re actively looking for experienced leaders to join our venues across Hobart. If you’ve worked as a Supervisor, Duty Manager, Assistant Venue Manager or Venue Manager, we want to hear from you.

Permanent, part-time and casual positions available across our venues.

About Kalis Hospitality  For more than 40 years, Kalis Group has been a proudly Tasmanian-owned and operated business. From a single hotel in North Hobart, we have grown into a group of venues and bottleshops across the state — and our success has always depended on the talent, integrity and professionalism of our people.

Our values — Respect, Community, Growth and Honesty — guide everything we do. Wherever you work in the group, you’ll be part of a team that lives these values every shift, in every venue.

What You’ll Do

As a leader at Kalis Group, your responsibilities will vary depending on the role and venue, but leadership across our business generally includes:

  • Leading, coaching and rostering a team to deliver outstanding service every shift
  • Supporting or overseeing venue operations – front of house, bar, gaming and back of house
  • Managing stock, cellar and POS systems, keeping wastage down and margins healthy
  • Handling customer and guest concerns with confidence, professionalism and a level head under pressure
  • Contributing to or managing rosters, wage costs, recruitment and onboarding
  • Keeping the venue well-presented and running to a high standard, shift in and shift out
  • Building the kind of loyal local following that keeps people coming back
  • Upholding liquor licensing obligations, RSA/RCG requirements and company compliance standards

What We Offer

  • A leadership team that understands life happens – we work with you to build rosters that respect your time outside of work
  • A genuine commitment to employee wellbeing, because happy, healthy people make for great teams and even better venues
  • Access to our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) – free, confidential support for you and your immediate family, because we take wellbeing seriously
  • A supportive team culture where your insights help shape how we run our venues
  • Clear pathways for growth – we actively promote from within and support your development across the Kalis group
  • Free parking
  • Employee Perks Program – discounts at bottleshops, venues and accommodation across the Kalis group
  • Networking events, development days and genuine upskilling opportunities

About You

You’re a natural leader who genuinely cares about the people around you — your team and your guests alike. You lead by example, bring energy and calm under pressure in equal measure, and take real pride in creating a venue people want to come back to. You value honesty and integrity, you’re invested in your community, and you’re always looking for ways to grow — both for yourself and the people you lead. If that sounds like you, and you share our commitment to Respect, Community, Growth and Honesty, we’d love to hear from you.

We’d love you to register your interest with us. We’re actively building our leadership talent pool and will reach out as opportunities that suit your experience come up across the group.

Kalis Group is an equal opportunity employer.
