What we are looking for :
We are seeking a full time Management Accountant to deliver and focus on tasks associated with cost analysis, budgeting, performance reporting and EOFY audit preparation. Reporting to the Head of Finance, this role will support the Finance Manager as well as act as backup to the Payroll Officer.
We are looking for someone who has :
- Experience in ERP system implementation with a preference for those who have worked with Epicor
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- CPA, CA or equivalent professional qualification (completed or in progress)
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in Manufacturing or product-based industries
- Strong knowledge of Management Accounting principles, costing and reporting
- Payroll processing experience, ideally with Employment Hero
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with financial software and ERP systems
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
This role will be based onsite at our HQ in Scoresby.
What the role entails :
- Monitor and analyse manufacturing costs, cost drivers and profitability by product line or department
- Review and validate manufacturing job costs in Epicor on a daily basis, ensuring costs match the BoM before closing each job. Address and resolve any discrepancies by working closely with Operations teams
- Collaborate on the development of KPIs and dashboards to improve visibility into Operational and Financial performance
- Perform reconciliations, journal entries and variance analysis
- Assist in coordinating and facilitating physical stocktakes and ensure accurate valuation of inventory
- Assist with the annual budget process, periodic forecasts and EOFY audit preparation including liaising with auditors
- Prepare and post month-end and year-end journals to support accurate financial reporting
- Prepare monthly Management accounts and detailed financial reports for internal stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, internal controls and support risk management initiatives
- Act as a key business partner to operational leaders including the Operations Manager, Furniture Managers and Procurement teams
- Serve as backup for payroll processing ensuring continuity and accuracy in the absence of the Payroll Officer
- Process timesheets, payroll data and statutory obligations including superannuation, PAYG and leave entitlements ensuring strict confidentiality and data integrity
- Provide support to the Finance Manager in overseeing day-to-day financial operations and lead in their absence
- Contribute to ERP implementation or enhancement projects
- Work with internal teams and vendors to design, test and implement ERP improvements
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), data migration validation and workflow optimisation to ensure seamless ERP integration
- Leverage ERP data to streamline reporting and financial workflows
- Identify and implement automation opportunities within finance processes
- Ad hoc duties as reasonably required by the company
