Summary:

As a Disability Support Worker in Frenchs Forest, New South Wales, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities. This temporary, casual position offers an opportunity to provide essential support, ensuring clients can engage in their daily activities with dignity and independence. Your contributions will be crucial in fostering a supportive environment that promotes inclusion and well-being.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks, in accordance with individualised care plans.
  • Support clients in accessing community resources and participating in social activities.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential records of client progress and promptly report any changes in behaviour or health to supervising staff.
  • Encourage and promote independence and self-advocacy among clients.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
  • Report any safeguarding concerns or incidents promptly in accordance with organisational policy.

Qualifications:

  • A genuine interest in supporting individuals with disabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Foundational understanding of disability support practices and principles, including person-centred approaches, and completion of NDIS worker orientation modules.
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting individuals with disabilities in a professional or volunteer capacity.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • National Police Check or equivalent.
  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent qualification.
  • Understanding of, and commitment to, safeguarding principles and the NDIS Code of Conduct.
  • Current Working With Children Check (WWCC) or National Disability Inclusion Act (NDIA) clearance.
