About the Role
We are seeking several experienced Control Systems Engineers to support the operation, maintenance, and improvement of control systems across mining and mineral processing facilities. The successful candidates will be responsible for ensuring reliable and safe operation of PLC, SCADA, HMI, and industrial network systems while contributing to continuous improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems.
- Support plant operations through fault finding and technical problem solving.
- Execute control system upgrades, modifications, and commissioning activities.
- Develop and maintain control philosophies, functional specifications, and engineering documentation.
- Support shutdowns, project execution, and commissioning activities.
- Monitor and improve process performance, reliability, and automation standards.
- Ensure compliance with site safety standards and change management processes.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and project teams.
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or similar.
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in mining, mineral processing, oil & gas, or heavy industry.
- Demonstrated experience with:
- Rockwell (Allen Bradley) ControlLogix
- Siemens TIA Portal / PCS7
- Schneider Unity Pro / EcoStruxure (desirable)
- SCADA systems (Geo SCADA, Citect, Ignition, FactoryTalk)
- Knowledge of industrial communications:
- Ethernet/IP
- Modbus TCP/IP
- Profibus / Profinet
- OPC
- Experience with VSDs, instrumentation, and process control systems.
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting abilities.
- Current Australian driver’s licence.
Desirable Skills
- Functional Safety / SIL experience.
- Mine automation or autonomous systems experience.
- OT Cybersecurity knowledge.
