Reporting to the General Manager, you will oversee a team of approximately 22 employees including plant operators, leading hands, administration support, weighbridge personnel, mechanical maintenance resources and site attendants. You will work closely with internal stakeholders across environmental, safety and finance functions to ensure the site operates safely, efficiently and in full compliance with regulatory requirements.

The role combines operational leadership, environmental compliance, stakeholder management and strategic planning, with a strong focus on building a culture of accountability, safety and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all operational activities across the Dublin landfill and waste processing facility.
  • Develop and execute production schedules to optimise site throughput and minimise stockpiling risks.
  • Ensure compliance with EPA licence requirements and environmental obligations.
  • Maintain readiness for regulatory inspections, audits and stakeholder reviews.
  • Drive a strong safety culture through visible leadership, coaching and accountability.
  • Manage site resources, plant and equipment to maximise productivity and reliability.
  • Use operational data and reporting to make informed decisions and improve performance.
  • Prepare the site for regulatory audits, inspections and compliance reviews.
  • Build capability, engagement and accountability across operational teams.
  • Work collaboratively with environmental, safety, finance and contractor stakeholders.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and operational outcomes.
  • Lead from the front by maintaining a visible presence across the site and engaging with employees at all levels.

Key Deliverables

  • Lead and optimise all operational activities across the Dublin landfill and waste processing facility, ensuring efficient and cost-effective site performance.
  • Drive a visible and proactive safety culture, increasing accountability, reporting and safe work practices across the site.
  • Build strong working relationships across operations, environment, safety, finance and contractor groups to ensure aligned business outcomes.
  • Lead, mentor and develop operational teams, creating a high-performing and engaged workforce.
  • Transition the site from a reactive operating environment to a proactive, strategically planned and efficiently managed operation.
  • Improve operational planning and decision-making through the effective use of data, reporting and performance metrics.

About You

You are a decisive and approachable operational leader who thrives in fast-paced industrial environments. You are comfortable making informed decisions, balancing competing priorities and leading diverse teams towards common goals.
