Make a difference where it really counts

Integrated Disability Support Services is seeking a passionate and capable Groups Participant Liaison Officer (PLO) to oversee our Groups program at the Bundaberg Hub.

This is a full-time role for someone who enjoys working with people, building strong relationships and helping ensure participants receive high quality, individualised support. While our Group Facilitators lead the day to day delivery of programs, you’ll provide oversight of our NDIS group programs, support the Group Facilitators and Lifestyle Mentors, and manage a caseload of participants who access both group and direct supports.

As a PLO, you’ll play a key role in connecting participants, families, support teams and IDSS management. You’ll work across both our Groups team and the wider PLO team, helping make sure supports are working well, keeping participant goals front and centre, and giving our Lifestyle Mentors the guidance and support they need to deliver great outcomes.

The role is designed to help the people we support live their best lives by encouraging independence, community participation and meaningful progress toward their individual goals. We’re always improving the way we work, so you’ll have a real say in how things get done.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll work closely with participants, families, guardians, advocates, stakeholders, Group Facilitators, Lifestyle Mentors and our internal teams. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing our NDIS group programs to make sure they’re safe, well run and focused on participant goals
  • Leading and supporting our Group Facilitators
  • Working alongside our Group Facilitators and the wider PLO team to keep supports consistent
  • Managing a caseload of participants across group and direct supports
  • Building positive relationships with participants, families and team members
  • Monitoring participant outcomes and ensuring supports align with individual goals
  • Building and maintaining Lifestyle Mentor rosters, supporting roster changes and making effective use of available resources
  • Completing participant documentation, reporting, administration and data entry
  • Ensuring participant files and documentation are accurate and current
  • Coordinating communication between participants, families, Lifestyle Mentors and other stakeholders
  • Keeping families and stakeholders informed and involved
  • Coaching and mentoring Lifestyle Mentors to deliver high quality supports
  • Working collaboratively with HR to ensure support teams have the right skills, qualifications and behaviours
  • Supporting the planning and delivery of innovative, individualised services
  • Maintaining compliance with NDIS requirements and the IDSS Code of Conduct

About you

We’re looking for someone who can combine strong people skills with organisation, initiative and sound judgement.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • Experience working within disability, community services or a similar environment
  • Experience coordinating supports, managing a caseload or overseeing programs
  • Experience leading or supervising a small team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Confidence communicating with participants, families, stakeholders and support teams
  • The ability to build rapport and positive working relationships
  • Knowledge of the NDIS, relevant legislation and the Quality and Safeguards Framework
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and other digital systems, with the confidence to learn new platforms quickly
  • An innovative mindset and a genuine interest in finding better ways of working
  • A positive and adaptable approach to change
  • A calm, level headed approach, especially when things change at short notice or pressure builds
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach and willingness to jump in where needed

A Certificate III in Disability or Individual Support is preferred but not essential.
