Don’t Have Your TAE? That’s Okay.
Some of our best trainers joined APC directly from industry. We recognise that the skills required to be a great trainer often come from years of hands-on experience, mentoring others and sharing knowledge in the workplace. If you’re the right fit for our team, APC will support you to obtain your TAE qualification while working with us.
What matters most is your industry experience, communication skills and passion for helping students learn and grow.
About the Role
This is much more than a traditional trainer role. You’ll combine your real-world paramedic experience with student support, assessment, practical skills training and continuous improvement activities to help students succeed throughout their learning journey.
A key part of the role is facilitating our face-to-face practical workshops, where students consolidate their learning, develop confidence and apply their skills in realistic healthcare scenarios. These workshops allow you to share your industry experience, coach students and bring emergency healthcare concepts to life.
You’ll also work closely with students online, providing support, marking assessments, delivering virtual workshops and helping maintain the high-quality learning experience APC is known for.
About you
We’re looking for someone who enjoys sharing their knowledge, supporting others and making a positive impact.
You’ll have:
- Current Ahpra registration as a Paramedic
- Recent industry experience within the pre-hospital care sector
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Confidence using technology and online systems
- A genuine passion for helping students succeed

Why Our Trainers Love Working at APC
Many of our trainers joined APC after successful careers in ambulance services and healthcare.
They often tell us they came for the work-life balance but stayed because of the people, the culture and the opportunity to make a lasting impact on students.
One trainer recently described it this way:
“After years of shift work, APC gave me the opportunity to continue contributing to healthcare in a meaningful way while achieving a better work-life balance. I still get to share my experience, mentor students and make a difference, but with the flexibility to work from home, spend more time with family and be part of a team where people genuinely know and value you.”
Our team brings together people from diverse healthcare and paramedic backgrounds who enjoy sharing knowledge, learning from one another and celebrating student success.
Most importantly, every day brings the opportunity to invest in people and help students build the skills, confidence and knowledge they need to take the next step in their healthcare career.
