Lead the numbers. Influence the decisions. Help us make an impact.
Remote | Part-time (0.6 FTE) | $160,000 pro rata + super | 12-month fixed term
Are you a finance leader who loves the numbers but gets even more satisfaction from helping people make better decisions?
We’re looking for a commercially minded, collaborative Group Head of Finance to lead our finance function across Impact Teaching Group.
This is more than a traditional finance leadership role. You’ll be a trusted adviser to our Co-CEOs, Board and leaders across the group, bringing financial expertise, commercial insight and constructive challenge to support smart decisions and sustainable growth.
You’ll have the opportunity to shape a growing finance function, strengthen financial capability across the organisation and make a genuine contribution to improving education in Australia.
Who we are
Impact Curriculum is a national not-for-profit working to improve educational equity by giving teachers access to high-quality, evidence-informed curriculum resources.
We’ve created more than 11,000 lessons, and our resources are accessed by 90% of Australian schools.
Together with Teach Well and Impact Assessment, we form the Impact Teaching Group — bringing together curriculum, professional learning and assessment to improve outcomes for students across Australia.
As we grow, our combination of philanthropic and government funding with commercial revenue brings exciting opportunities and increasing financial complexity. That’s where you come in.
What you’ll be doing
Reporting directly to our Co-CEOs, you’ll lead financial strategy, governance and operations across our three entities, while building strong partnerships with leaders throughout the group.
You’ll:
- Be a trusted business partner: Work alongside our Co-CEOs, entity leaders and budget holders, providing proactive financial advice, meaningful insights and constructive challenge to support better decisions.
- Shape our financial future: Lead group budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and long-term financial modelling to support sustainable growth.
- Turn numbers into action: Translate complex financial information into clear, practical recommendations that inform investments, pricing, new products, partnerships and resource allocation.
- Strengthen financial governance: Deliver high-quality financial reporting to the Board and Finance, Audit and Risk Committee, while ensuring strong controls, compliance and risk management.
- Build a smarter finance function: Lead improvements to financial systems, processes and reporting, creating efficiencies as our group evolves.
- Develop people and capability: Lead and support our finance team while helping leaders across the organisation build confidence and accountability in managing their budgets.
What you’ll bring
We’re looking for a finance leader who combines strong technical expertise with commercial curiosity, sound judgement and the ability to build genuine partnerships.
You’ll have:
- CA/CPA qualifications and significant experience in senior finance leadership roles.
- Strong multi-entity accounting, consolidation, budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling experience.
- A proven ability to turn financial data into useful insights that influence strategic and operational decisions.
- Confidence engaging with senior executives, Boards and non-finance leaders, building trust and providing constructive advice.
- Experience leading financial governance, audit, compliance and process improvement.
- A collaborative, hands-on approach, with the flexibility to move between strategic thinking and operational detail.
- The initiative and adaptability to thrive in a growing, fully remote organisation.
Experience in not-for-profit finance, grant funding, commercial operations or education would be a bonus.
Why join us?
- Purpose with impact: Help shape the financial future of an organisation making a real difference to Australian education.
- Real influence: Work directly with our Co-CEOs, Board and senior leaders, contributing to decisions that matter.
- An opportunity to build: Shape a new finance leadership role and help create the systems, capability and insights needed for our next stage of growth.
- Genuine flexibility: Enjoy remote working and flexible part-time hours that support life outside work.
- Great people: Join a passionate, capable and collaborative team committed to improving educational outcomes.
- Keep growing: Access meaningful professional learning and development opportunities.

- Employment: Part-time, 0.6 FTE, with flexible working arrangements and some potential to increase hours.

- Salary: $160,000 per annum pro rata, depending on experience, plus superannuation.
