Are you an experienced Diesel Mechanic who’s ready to take the next step? Or an established Workshop Foreman looking for a new challenge where your technical expertise and leadership skills can make a real difference?

At Hutcheon & Pearce, we’re looking for a hands-on Workshop Foreman to lead our workshop team in Warren. This is your opportunity to combine your mechanical expertise with the chance to mentor technicians, improve workshop performance and help keep our customers’ agricultural operations moving. You won’t just be managing jobs. You’ll be helping develop people, solve complex technical challenges and drive a workshop that takes pride in getting the job done right.

Why Join Hutcheon & Peace?

We know great people deserve to be recognised. Here’s what you can look forward to:

  • Above-award wages that recognise your skills and experience.
  • Overtime opportunities during peak season to reward the extra effort when it counts.
  • Monthly performance incentives that recognise contribution and results.
  • A Monday–Friday roster offering a regular weekday working routine.
  • Career development and leadership experience with a well-established agricultural machinery business.
  • Staff discounts on John Deere parts, products, toys and merchandise.
  • Staff gifts at Christmas and our annual All Employee Meeting.
  • The backing of an established team with the resources, equipment and industry experience to support your success.

Your role: Lead from the workshop floor

As Workshop Foreman, you’ll play a key role in the performance of our Warren workshop. You’ll combine hands-on mechanical work with team leadership, job coordination and a focus on delivering excellent customer outcomes. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, supporting and mentoring qualified and apprentice technicians.
  • Coordinating workshop jobs, servicing and repairs to keep work moving efficiently.
  • Providing technical guidance and helping the team diagnose and resolve complex machinery faults.
  • Carrying out servicing, repairs and maintenance on agricultural machinery.
  • Using diagnostic tools and technical knowledge to identify faults accurately.
  • Reviewing and finalising job cards to ensure work is documented correctly.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve workflow, productivity and workshop revenue.
  • Promoting a strong safety culture and consistently high standards of workmanship and customer service.

What will make you successful?

You’re a practical, solutions-focused mechanic who enjoys helping others succeed. You can roll up your sleeves when needed, keep a cool head when things get busy and bring people together to achieve a common goal. Ideally, you’ll bring:

  • A trade qualification in Heavy Vehicle, Diesel Mechanics or a closely related field.
  • At least five years’ experience in a mechanical service environment.
  • Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting and repair skills.
  • Experience leading, mentoring or supporting other technicians — or the confidence and desire to step into your first formal leadership role.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing workshop demands.
  • Clear communication skills and a genuine commitment to customer satisfaction.

Not currently a Workshop Foreman? If you’re a senior Diesel Mechanic or Agricultural Machinery Technician who’s ready to take the next step, we’d love to hear from you.
