Description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker to provide assistance and support to individuals with disabilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting clients with daily living activities, providing emotional support, and promoting independence and community integration. Preferably someone with experience working with people with psychosocial disabilities and is subjected to a supervised Treatment Order through the court.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation
  • Supporting clients with mobility, community access, and transport
  • Implementing NDIS plans and working toward participant goals
  • Providing emotional, social, and behavioural support
  • Recording support notes, reporting incidents, and communicating with coordinators and families
  • Supporting therapy routines, medication management, and health appointments
  • Facilitating social activities, education participation, and skill development
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure the best possible care for clients
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation

Qualifications:

  • Certification in disability support or related field preferred
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Compassionate and patient demeanour
  • Ability to handle challenging behaviours and situations
  • Knowledge of disability rights and advocacy
