BACK-END PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

We are expanding our Production Department for Deano Series 1 and are seeking a sharp, proactive, and experienced Back-End Production Supervisor to join our team.

In this role, you will take direct production charge of our Rigging department from a production standpoint, while providing operational oversight, mentorship, and support to the Production Coordinators managing Scene Planning, Animation, and VFX/Comp. Working hand in hand with the Production Manager and Producer, you will ensure that the production infrastructure across all back-end departments runs smoothly, keeping our pipeline on schedule and on budget.

What you’ll be doing:

Direct Rigging Production Ownership:

• Rigging Production Management: Take direct ownership of day-to-day production management for the Rigging department, partnering closely with the Rigging Lead to build schedules, manage asset milestones, and track character/prop rig delivery.
• Asset Handoff Tracking: Monitor asset versioning and technical handoffs from Rigging to ensure animation teams always pull the latest approved builds without pipeline stalls.

Department Oversight, Mentorship & Coordinator Support:

• Coordinator Leadership: Oversee and mentor the Production Coordinators embedded across Scene Planning, Animation, and VFX/Comp. Ensure they are effectively handling day-to-day tracking, schedule updates, and status reporting.
• Operational Guidance: Build our Coordinators’ judgment by training them on what to track, how to manage review logistics, and when to escalate risks up the chain.
• Workflow Support: Act as the senior production escalation point for Coordinators, helping them unblock departmental bottlenecks and keep artist teams aligned with production milestones.

Pipeline Schedule, Risk & Resource Management:

• Cross-Departmental Schedule Oversight: Manage the overarching production schedule across Rigging, Scene Planning, Animation, and VFX/Comp, maintaining a rolling 2-to-4-week look-ahead to anticipate bottlenecks.
• Review & Delivery Logistics: Oversee operational workflows for creative reviews and post-production delivery, ensuring notes are logged and shots move cleanly downstream.
• Resourcing & Budget Alignment: Partner with the Production Manager (your primary operational partner) and Producer to track department budgets and flag staffing or resourcing needs early.

What You’ll Bring

• Production Experience: Proven track record supervising production management workflows in 2D episodic animation or feature pipelines (Rigging through VFX/Comp).
• Rigging Production Acumen: Specific experience managing production for a Rigging department, tracking asset pipelines, and coordinating technical handoffs.
• Leadership & Mentorship: Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, and levelling up Production Coordinators.
• Collaboration: Strong ability to partner with Production Managers, Producers, and Creative Leads to keep multi-department operations aligned and on track.
