Summary
Margaret River Hotel is seeking a passionate and experienced Chef de Partie to join our opening team as we launch an exciting new chapter in the heart of Western Australia’s renowned wine region. This permanent full-time role is ideal for a motivated chef with 3-5 years of professional kitchen experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is excited by the opportunity to help shape a new culinary destination from day one.
Working closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chef, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional food experiences across our bar, dining room and event operations while contributing to the culture, standards, and success of our opening team.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of an assigned kitchen section, ensuring consistent preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes.
- Prepare, cook, and service menu items to exceptional standards during busy service periods.
- Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in maintaining smooth daily kitchen operations.
- Ensure all food is prepared safely, efficiently, and in line with recipe and quality specifications.
- Assist with stock control, ordering, stock rotation, and minimisation of food wastage.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and compliant work environment in accordance with food safety and health regulations.
- Contribute ideas for menu development, seasonal specials, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist in training, mentoring, and supporting junior kitchen team members.
- Lead by example in fostering a positive, professional, and collaborative team culture.
About You
- 3-5 years’ experience in a professional kitchen, ideally within a hotel, restaurant, or high-volume hospitality environment.
- Relevant commercial cookery qualifications or equivalent industry experience.
- Strong technical cooking skills and a genuine passion for quality food and hospitality.
- Ability to remain calm, organised, and efficient under pressure.
- Sound understanding of food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, motivated, and committed to maintaining high standards.
- Enthusiastic about being part of an opening team and helping establish a strong kitchen culture from the outset.
