The Opportunity

HeliMods are seeking talented CNC Machine Operators with a passion for technology, automation, and digital production to join our team!

You’ll be interfacing with advanced engineering and manufacturing technologies as HeliMods continues its evolution of advanced manufacturing.

In your role you will

  • Create basic programs and operate CNC routers.
  • Operate 3 and 5 axis CNC machines (including HAAS VMC/UMC/Mill-Turn machines).
  • Drive best-practice within design for machined component manufacture and quality.
  • Complete part conformity and verification.
  • Own continuous improvement initiatives within machining to decrease run times, increase machine utilisation, and improve part quality.

Day and afternoon shift opportunities available

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Relevant trade or industry qualifications.
  • 4+ years’ experience in the aerospace, automotive or other high precision industry desirable.
  • 5+ years’ experience with HAAS or equivalent high-speed machining centres, including tooling and work holding desirable.
  • Experience in proving CAM, 1st of type production, and integrating with an engineering team.

  • Be able to work autonomously with minimal supervision and manage time effectively.

Inherent Requirements

  • Due to the nature and privilege of information, and in accordance with Australian Standards for Workforce Screening (ISO 4811-2022), it is an inherent requirement that a security screening process (including a police check) are undertaken prior to employment.
  • Applicants must be located in or willing to relocate to the Sunshine Coast.

HeliMods utilises afternoon rates and overtime rates for hours worked in excess of 38. We will provide an indication of approximate earnings with shortlisted candidates to ensure this aligns with their expectations.
